Renaissance will play host to some incredible Pop Ups telling the SAINT story. On Saturday 20th outside the main sessions we will host some of the artists, makers and shapers running some of our most exciting creative projects over the past five years. Why do we keep bees as a church ? An interactive masterclass on urban beekeeping with the SAINT bees. Learn all about the art of beekeeping, and try some of our Hackney Honey

MAPPA MUNDI - 17:30

Meet the maker of our Hackney Mappa Mundi, Ewan Eason, discussing how and why we create art for sacred spaces, and learn all about the art of gilding

WILD BAKING WITH TOM HERBERT

Join us in the Walled Garden in St John at Hackney Church Gardens for a Wild Baking pop up with Tom Herbert. Learn to bake beer bread, campfire donuts, and chat about why gathering around food is more important than ever.

WREATH MAKING - 13.30 & 17:30

Learn how to make a Christmas wreath with SAINT's Head Gardener and florist Mel Zulu. This hour-long interactive pop up will teach you all the basics of wreath making. There'll be mulled wine too.

SACRED DESIGN: MEET THE ARCHITECT - 13:30

At 1.30pm on conference Saturday, we will be joined by architect Stefan Dold from John Pawson for a tour of the newly-restored St John at Hackney Church. As well as guiding you around the church, he will spend some time unpacking the key practices and principles behind designing for sacred spaces.

VISIT HACKNEY'S OLDEST BUILDING - 13:30 & 17:30

St Augustine's Tower is the oldest building in Hackney, and dates all the way back to 1275. Standing on the edge of St John at Hackney Churchyard, the tower will be open to ticket holders all day on conference Saturday - there is an incredible view of London at the top!

BEER TASTING & LIGHTHOUSE STORY - 13:30 & 17:30

Visit Hackney Church Brew Co on Bohemia Place for an interactive tasting of their best beers, as well as a church to hear a bit about the story of the Lighthouse Project, which the brewery supports.

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED AT COP - 13:30

Visit St Luke's Homerton for an interactive Q&A with Kate Hampton, CEO of the Children's Investment Fund Foundation, who has been a key delegate at COP26, the recent global Climate Change conference in Glasgow.

CREATIVITY & THE PRESENCE OF GOD - 17:30

Join UPPERROOM's Reward Sibanda at St Luke's Homerton for a pop up on how we immerse ourselves in a culture of encounter and prayer, and how creativity flows from this.
