BELIEVER’S BAPTISM

At SAINT, we believe that Baptism isn’t a formality or a tick box exercise, rather it is a joyful, public “yes” to Jesus. In baptism we’re spiritually buried with Christ and raised to new life (Romans 6), stepping into His story and His Church. We believe in one baptism into the death and resurrection of Jesus. For individuals who express their faith in Jesus, we baptise by full immersion, which is a powerful sign of dying to the old and rising in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Who is it for?
– Anyone who has put their trust in Jesus, and is yet to be baptised.
– Children aged 11+ are welcome if they can articulate a personal faith.

Note that if you’ve already been baptised in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, we do not “re-baptise.” Instead we recommend Confirmation as a significant next step. We are also very happy to have a conversation with you about reaffirming your Baptismal Vows – which is a joyful public recommitment to Christ, often with water as a sign of renewal.

INFANT BAPTISM

At SAINT, we offer infant baptism for infants up to the age of two years old and believer’s baptism for those eleven years old and onwards. Baptism services happen across our parishes throughout the year. With infant baptism, families are required to have a minimum of three godparents for their child. It is a requirement that the godparents have themselves been baptised however this is not a requirement for parents/carers. If the prospective godparents are not baptised, they are still invited to be a part of the service, however they will be unable to make the declarations on behalf of the infant being baptised. Further information about infant baptisms can be found here.

We strongly encourage parents to complete the Alpha Course before bringing their child to baptism. This is an important step in understanding the Christian faith to which their child will be baptised into. Click on the links above and fill out the form to sign up to get baptised.
